The Rutgers Future Scholars program provides 200 first-generation, low-income, academically promising middle school students from New Brunswick, Piscataway, Newark, Camden, and Rahway with assistance and support throughout their journey to higher education.
Talent Search assists 6-12th graders in East Orange, Newark, and Orange with early preparation for post-secondary education through academic preparation, college and career planning, financial literacy, mentoring, cultural competency, civic engagement, and access to STEM education.
The Rutgers–Newark Upward Bound program is an intensive yearlong college preparatory program that provides classroom instruction and academic support to first-generation, low-income students from Each Orange. The Rutgers–New Brunswick Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math-Science programs help students graduate high school and prepare for college.
Achieve academic success, financial literacy, and career readiness through a range of Student Support Services at Rutgers. These services are specifically designed to increase the retention and graduation rates of students who are first-generation, low-income, and/or have disabilities.
Rutgers undergraduate students can prepare for the doctoral admissions process with the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program, which is designed to increase the number of first-generation, low-income, and/or underrepresented students in doctoral programs.
