Road to Success Transfer Scholarship

New Jersey transfer students can dramatically reduce their college costs by up to 100 percent at Rutgers University–Camden. This program closes the gap between federal and state sources of financial support and the balance of tuition and general campus fee.

How It Works

Reduce your college costs by up to 100 percent!

The program closes the gap between federal and state sources of financial support and the balance of tuition and the general campus fee. Rutgers University–Camden automatically applies the Road to Success grant to these remaining costs after any other need-based federal, state, and/or institutional aid have been applied, based on family adjusted gross income (AGI):

  • Adjusted Gross Income (AGI): $0-65,000
    • Students at this threshold will have an annual net cost (tuition and mandatory fees) of $0.
  • Adjusted Gross Income (AGI): $65,001-80,00:
    • Students at this threshold will have an annual net cost (tuition and mandatory fees) of no more than $3,000.
  • Adjusted Gross Income (AGI): $80,001-100,000
    • Students at this threshold will have an annual net cost (tuition and mandatory fees) of no more than $5,000.

Criteria for Annual Renewal

Students may renew their grant annually provided that they:

  1. successfully complete 30 credit hours in an academic year;
  2. remain in good academic standing; and
  3. complete the FAFSA every year.

How to Apply

Applying for the Road to Success grant is easy.

  1. Apply as a transfer applicant
  2. Complete the FAFSA

There is no separate application for the program. Applicants who meet the criteria will be holistically reviewed and are automatically considered when they apply and are admitted for admission to Rutgers–Camden.

Who Is Eligible?

The program is open to students who have attended a New Jersey community college and enroll as transfer undergraduate students on a full-time basis (at least 30 credits per academic year*) in degree programs at Rutgers–Camden. All transfer applicants are holistically reviewed based on your application. This program does not apply to online or second-degree students.

New Jersey residents who are also U.S. citizens (or legal permanent U.S. residents) are eligible.

This program is not transferrable to other Rutgers campuses or off-campus Rutgers programs.

*Note: Developmental courses that are successfully passed will be counted toward a student’s 30 earned credits per academic year requirement.
